Zusammenfassung: | The centrality of the workplace in contemporary society makes it an important arena for the study of criminal activities. The transformation to a service and information-oriented economy has increased opportunities for white-collar crime and has made white-collar crime and workplace crime increasingly sources of concern in society. The apparent rise of violence in the workplace has further heightened the need to understand the workplace as a possible location of crime and deviance. The study of workplace crime is an important growth area both in criminology and the sociology of work. High-quality research is beginning to be published in this area using a wide variety of methodologies. |
