Zusammenfassung: | Interview & questionnaire data are used to examine perceived barriers to health promotion among a sample of 135 people with disabilities ranging from visual, hearing, & neurocognitive impairments to chronic medical conditions. Lack of money, being too tired, the impairment itself, & concern about crime emerged as the most important barriers to health promotion; lack of support was infrequently cited. Unmarried participants perceived greater barriers than married participants. Of blacks, whites, & Hispanics, blacks perceived the greatest number of barriers, & Hispanics the fewest. 3 Tables, 22 References. L. Goya |
