Zusammenfassung: | Examines 8 lecturers working in Botswana teacher education institutions (TEIs) in terms of gender. The relationship between gender & the state in TEIs is considered. Viewing gender as a framework for social life, issues such as the underrepresentation of women in positions of authority, integration of work & personal life, & masculinist cultures & management styles in TEI workplaces are characterized. Findings indicate that male & female lecturers feel pressure to balance work & home life. A need for a framework capable of better analyzing gender disparities in TEIs is expressed. 23 References. D.
