Zusammenfassung:Influence strategies utilized by elderly care-receiving mothers and their caregiving daughters were identified, including positive strategies, overt negative strategies, covert negative strategies, and option seeking. Mother's health, level of dependency, and residence were not related to the use of most strategies. Negative strategies were associated with reduced intimacy, while positive strategies were associated with greater intimacy. Implications for future research and intervention are presented.
