Zusammenfassung:An investigation of restructuring initiatives in Australian schools, drawing on 1995 interview data from high-status educational stakeholders in a number of states. Several themes discernible in the discourses of restructuring are discussed, including continuity/discontinuity & fragmentation/integration. Illustrative examples are offered of the way restructuring is being implemented & construed in state educational systems, focusing on who benefits from such initiatives.
