Zusammenfassung: | Investigates the factorial structure of the Coping Response Indices scale developed by A. G. Billings & R. H. Moos (1984) using a nonclinical sample (N = 423 rural NV households). Principal components analysis with varimax rotation yields 3 distinct dimensions within the scale. Considerable support is found for the conceptualization of the Coping Response Indices, as proposed by Billings & Moos. There is also some indication, however, that the conceptualization & measurement of the indices need further revision & testing, especially if they are to be used in social science research. 6 Tables, 48 References.
