Zusammenfassung: | Principles of distribution of social justice in postrevolutionary Mexican social policy, the main sphere of implementation of those principles, & new forms of allocating arising from the new (neoliberal) economic model are discussed. The concept of social justice prior to the economic crisis of the 1980s held that state tutelage should be extended to the most vulnerable sectors of the population. These concepts were sanctioned in the 1917 Constitution & in social policy. Normative modifications to social policy caused by structural adjustment & a different view of the state's role followed in the 1982 economic crisis. A confusion persists about the boundaries of the distributive spheres to which different criteria for distribution of particular social goods apply. Injustice continues, because of the invasion of spheres, & is exacerbated by recourse to corporativism in Mexico. Adapted from the source document. |
