Zusammenfassung:Compares the dimensionality & possession of the bases of supervisory power & their relationships to compliance & satisfaction with supervision between US (N = 459) & South Korean (N = 625) managers. Mail questionnaire data indicate that the factor structure of the power bases in the South Korean sample was remarkably similar to that found in the US sample; but whereas the US managers reported relatively more position than personal power base, South Korean managers reported the inverse. Similarities in the relationships of coercive, legitimate, & referent power bases to compliance, satisfaction, & dissimilarities in the relationships of expert & reward power bases to the criterion variables in the two samples are noted. 4 Tables, 45 References.
