Zusammenfassung: | The problems brought about by ethnic politics in the current debate on state formation in Nigeria can be mitigated through four feasible solutions, namely the constitution, the state, political culture and education. A new constitution that seeks to foster national unity, cognizance of the state's role in unifying conflicting ethnic interests, an equitable distribution of wealth and the development of a political culture that promotes national legitimacy are all suggested to palliate the problems of ethnonationalism in the country. |
