Zusammenfassung: | In this historical revision of Marxist philosophy, Marxism is explored as an ideology fed by different theoretical proposals & diverse lines of political action. This amalgam has now been historically superseded. Marxism was derived from Friedrich Engel's elaboration of Marxist thought & gained more support with the leaders of the proletariat movement after the triumph of the Bolshevik revolution & the formation of Marxism-Leninism. However, it functioned alongside capitalism, not as a superior economic style; this positioning ended up dividing the workers' movement & delivering pre- & antimodern effects to the socialist countries. In addition, certain assumptions in Marxism became dogmatic, with disastrous results for both theory & political practice; moralizing feelings of resentment & revenge & religious feelings of messianism & redemption were associated with the ideology. Marxism provided great ethical energy & political & intellectual sacrifices, but not many desirable or practical solutions to problems. With the demise of Soviet communism, the same problems that Marxism was trying to solve still exist in this increasingly complex & unequal society. Adapted from the source document. |
