Chips, Coke and Rock-'N'-Roll: Children's Mediation of an Invitation to a First Dance Party

The reactions of a particular group of children to their first invitation to a dance party at a private, alternative elementary school are detailed. It became clear that the party was raising apprehension and anxiety, particularly in the girls.
