Zusammenfassung: | The incidence of science & technology information on TV in the Netherlands, Belgium, GB, & Germany was examined through weekly analysis of 3 full day noncommercial programs in each country for a 12-week period in 1991. Broadcasting time devoted to science & technology ranged from 1.8% in GB to 2.8% in Belgium. German TV devoted twice as much broadcasting time to science & technology than the other 3 countries. The duration of science information broadcast was longer than that of technology & varied from country to country. Items of very short duration tended to appear on news, talk, or quiz shows. Natural science was the most commonly broadcast subject area, followed by medical & environmental sciences. 3 Tables, 8 References. D. Generoli |
