Holan: Solitude or Isolation?

Vladimir Holan will have earned the title of "tragic poet" by linking a poetic vision for Czech literature with his self-imposed, uncompromising seclusion. Following forty years of silence under the communists, economic austerity measures have indefinitely postponed publication of his collected edited works.
