MINORITY RECRUITMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES: PROGRAMS OF NIA-FUNDED ALZHEIMER DISEASE CENTER EDUCATION CORES

A panel discussion on minority recruitment programs from various Alzheimer Disease Centers featuring E. Ballard, D. Edwards, and D. Gallagher-Thompson, among others, and with moderation by H. Hendrie is presented. Successful recruitment strategies include the development of community leaders, the use of multidisciplinary services, culturally specific outreach programs, building partnerships between academic and community groups, utilizing novel approaches to education and community building.
