The Status of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) in the Domestic Law of State Parties: An Initial Global Survey through UN Human Rights Committee Documents

The domestic legal potential for the use of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the sharing of ICCPR jurisprudence among jurists of state parties to the Covenant are emphasized. The ICCPR is an appropriate tool with which to increase judicial awareness of and respect for minimum international human rights standards.
