Zusammenfassung: | Georg Lukacs's manuscript & interviews for his unpublished autobiographical sketch, Gelebtes Denken (Lived Thought), are discussed in relation to his opus as a whole. Lukacs's personal conception of loyalty to the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party, his defenses of Stalinism, & his exile to Romania in 1956 & subsequent repatriation in 1967 are reviewed; his own assessment of these experiences shortly before his death in 1971 is outlined, stressing the importance he attached to his renewed Party membership & his call for "discontinuities" in socialist development. Extensive citations from his final interviews are included. L. Whittemore. |
