Zusammenfassung:A stratified random sample of 100 Pa Minor Civil Divisions with 7,000-50,000 residents is used as a source of data on growth promotion, including census & other statistics & mailed questionnaire responses from 336 key informants. Regression analysis of 10 selected attributes shows that these attributes explain 24% of population growth. However, mobilization for industrial & commercial development was not found to be significant. This finding is explained in terms of mass society theory & loss of local community control. 3 Tables.
