Zusammenfassung: | The need to utilize traditional medicine for primary health care (PHC) in Nigeria in order to meet the UN's goals of "Health for All by the Year 2000" is declared. Obstacles blocking the development of adequate modern health facilities to meet the demand of Nigeria's population by the year 2000 are detailed. Traditional medicine is proposed as an alternative, since it is both less expensive & more acceptable among Nigerians. Government & traditional practitioners must cooperate if the practice of traditional medicine is to be improved, & the practitioners must be persuaded to pursue PHC activities. 7 References.
