Zusammenfassung: | An analysis of modern terrorist movements, beginning with the terrorism in Latin America during the 1960s & proceeding to the spread of guerrilla organizations in Western Europe, with special emphasis on Italy. The fluctuations in guerrilla activity show that its momentum often builds until it becomes a mass armed movement, or it peters out. Special attention is given to the New Left, an essentially antiauthoritarian revolutionary movement, which has shown a tendency to develop into rigid neo-Stalinism following the defeat of leftist movements in the 1960s & 1970s. Its increase in strength has ironically led to a decrease in size, & ultimately to internal fragmentation. Modified HA. |
