Zusammenfassung: | Described are the historical development & present capacity of the statistical system of Peru. SE data structures are classified accordingly: (1) demographic, social, & labor statistics; (2) aggregate economic statistics; & (3) economic statistics by type of activity. Subgroups within each category are specified, & the uses of the data for educational, economic, & social policy making & operations are considered. In recent years, statistical personnel, both professional & supportive, have declined, considerably affecting output; the country's economic crisis has also delayed the modernization of the statistical system due to the inability to purchase computers. A description of statistical publications is included, & data-producing agencies are listed. 7 Tables, Appendixes. D. Dunseath. |
