25 Years of the INTERNATIONAL REVIEW FOR THE SOCIOLOGY OF SPORT — A Content Analysis

The article is based on a content analysis of all 457 articles which have appeared in the INTERNATIONAL REVIEW FOR THE SOCIOLOGY OF SPORT in the last 25 years. After a short description of the conception of the content analysis, it gives an overview of the structural peculiarities of international research into sport sociology, the object of research into the sociology of sport, the issues in sport sociological research and empirical and theoretical approaches and trends in sport sociological research.
