Zusammenfassung:A discussion of the basic elements, social uses, & social origins of the presentation coaching movement of Dale Carnegie. Utilizing the form of critique from dramaturgical sociology, it is argued that, since the interactional encounters described by Carnegie & his associates are controlled externally, the form of drama entailed resembles puppet theater.
