The Price of the “GPA Perspective”: An Empirical Study of “Making the Grade”

Suggests that university students who are very concerned with their grade point average (GPA) practise a system of learning which emphasises good grades at the expense of deeper, critical analytic learning. Class activities are also organised round this point. Efforts to raise the standard of education must focus on this dilemma. (PAS)
