Zusammenfassung: | Res'ers working in soc area analysis & factorial ecology have isolated a number of dimensions regarded as relevant to Ur planning; one of the more common of these variables is SC or SES. Census data have been the traditional kind of data used by scholars in these fields, but it is suggested that large nat'l surveys can also be meaningfully utilized. With OD-zone data drawn from a 1968 traffic survey conducted in Singapore, a number of indicators, such as occup, educ, housing structure, household income, & car ownership are combined into an overall index of SES. The theoretical rationale for such a scoring effort is clear enough & r'al analysis (gamma) offers empirical support for this effort. A brief examination of the usefulness of SES for planning is included. AA. |
