Anti-Imperialist Struggles in Latin America

The present structure of imperialism in Latin America is explored within an economic context. Various phases of antiimperialistic movements in the hemisphere are discussed, focusing on capitalistic monopolies & unequal methods of production--particularly between agrarian areas & the cities. The bourgeois process is being impeded in many Latin American countries because of the presence of imperialism &, hence, national & democratic tasks remain unfulfilled. Various types of dependent countries have resulted from the situation, & a semicolonial state exists, even where industrial sectors have developed to a decidedly advanced stage. J. Shiffer.
