Zusammenfassung: | Given the social & political context within which Gramsci's works were written & subsequently published (after about 2 decades), it is not surprising that they have generated considerable confusion. An attempt is made to clarify some of these problems in relation to the Marxist heritage of the Italian Communist Party. To show why Gramsci is a theoretician radically different from Lenin, the notions of "imperialism," "revolution," "the state," & "philosophy" are carefully examined in both thinkers. The result is a Gramsci whose social theories are considerably different from what most commentators have taken them to be. AA. |
