Zusammenfassung: | Mouism, a popular religion of Korea, was transmitted from generation to generation across the whole of Korea for a long period by the moudang families. Since the arrival of Buddhism, the Ucs have despised this religion & persecuted it, relegating its adherents to the lowest classes of Korean society. Nonetheless, the moudang families have persisted in their traditions. The rapid changes in Korean society due to the introduction of democratic thought & the abolition of the Confucian class system have given much importance to purely economic influences. Due to these influences, the moudang are presently shifting to new occupations. Today, this traditional religious thought receives less & less attention from the new generations. Modified HA. |
