Zusammenfassung:The members of four energy organizations in Washington were studied in an effort to determine the degree to which energy activists coalesce into hard- and soft-path advocates. Attitudinal results from questionnaires support the pairing of the four sets into different path camps. Data on social characteristics suggest that adherents of these two camps are drawn from different segments of society. The achievement of consensus between hard-path and soft-path activists would appear to be even more difficult than is generally recognized. ( 20 references, 6 tables, )
