Collective War and Individualistic Ethics: Against the Conscription of "Self-Defense"

An essay argues for an alternative view of individual self-defense which refuses to condone elimination of blameless people. A compromise between individualist and collectivist views of human reality provides an alternative moral analysis of the war ethic.
