Zusammenfassung:In this document you will find solid interpretation of the situation of Indian women in the context of the armed struggle going on in Colombia. It points out the increasing importance of Indian women in their communities & in the leadership of Indian social organizations. Nevertheless they continue being discriminated in society, in their own communities, & even in the ranks of the Indian Movement. This essay also discusses the importance of using gender as an adequate cognitive category for analyzing particular cultural situations. This document is a contribution to the literature about the danger & risks for women due to increasing discrimination & violation of human rights. It evidences the emergence of rights consciousness in times of crises, despite increasing limitations & difficulties. Wars have been collective processes which, directly & indirectly, have produced changes in the realm of citizenship. 58 References. Adapted from the source document.
