Zusammenfassung: | There is increasing interest in methods of assessing the effectiveness of agri'al advisory services. Evaluation with reference to present projects in Europe is taken to mean the measuring of progress in attaining objectives; & balancing the value of progress against the effort involved. The most successful evaluation activities have been those planned along with the program or project to be evaluated. Persons directly involved in advisory work should select the problem for evaluation, devise the procedure, accomplish the analysis, make interpretation, & apply the findings. The ultimate purpose of the projects is to develop improved methods & techniques of conducting advisory work. The application of findings is the most important aspect of evaluation. Findings of evaluation studies are a necessary beginning for rational & coordinated program planning-a basic requirement for further improvement. Unless the application of findings is carried through & followed up, the evaluation effort will have been a mere academic exercise. R. L. McNamara. |
