Zusammenfassung: | This is one of a series of verification studies testing hyp's derived from systemic dynamic soc theory & its soc psychol'al offshoot, interaction f theory. A short summary is provided of the relevant theoretical considerations. These lead to the hypothesis that, at least for the period of initial Western industr'ization, substantial pop growth antecedes the development of industr technology. An exact opposite relation between these phenomena is posited by some traditional hyp's. The latter are reviewed shortly & contrasted with the hypothesis developed. W. G. Hoffmann's work on BRITISH INDUSTRY (Oxford, England: Basil Blackwell, 1955) is used as a source for data on industr production. Pop figures are derived by a critical comparison of census figures & standard pop estimates. The data appear to be in line with the hyp. AA. |
