Zusammenfassung: | This article examines the critical decade between 1925 & 1935, when the ideological struggle between the two dominant political forces in Zionism -- Labour & Revisionism -- resulted in victory for Labour & led to almost half a century of Labour dominance over Israeli society. It examines the Revisionist movement & its leader Jabotinsky & contrasts the revisionist outlook with that of bodies such as Ha-poel Ha-Tzair & Ahdut Ha-avoda, which provided the basis for the labor movement. In particular it examines the years between 1929 & 1931, when the ideological struggle within Zionism reached a peak. The author concludes with a comparison of Revisionist & Labour attitudes to the conflict with the Arab world in these formative years for Zionism. Adapted from the source document. |
