Zusammenfassung:Pop migration & fam branching have weakened traditional clan (Dozoku ties. The Japanese village of Nagura was selected for a field-work study of present-day survival of the traditional clan (Dozoku) system. Pop migration & fam branching have considerably weakened clan ties, & no survivals were found in Nagura of collective ceremonials surrounding the clan god. Extended fam's did, however, observe ceremonies honoring the fam tutelary deity (Yashiki-gami rites), & ritual survivals from the clan rite were noted in the fam rite. Modified AA.
