Zusammenfassung:Type & extent of leisure pursuits may be affected by group diff's along SE lines. Reviewed is the res evidence on SE diff's in leisure pursuits to determine how questions of educ'al policy should be formulated. Studies indicate high +r between ES & possession of leisure resources such as pianos, books, & magazine subscriptions. No r is found between TV ownership & SES & a -r between movie attendance & SES. Several studies note variations in the distribution of types of magazines between high & low SE groups indicating that leisure diff's are unrelated to purchasing power. Studies indicate diff's in the use of community resources, public recreational & entertainment facilities revealing that the white collar group prefers self-betterment, & the labor group self-amusement types of leisure. Belonging to the Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls or the YMCA is affected by the SD between the several SC's rather than by financial factors. For educators, this means a greater responsibility in exposing all children to the leisure time resources in the community. R. Esterowitz.
