Zusammenfassung:Lacoste makes 3 points in answering M. Mousseau. (See SA 1535-B1297): (1) There was a typographical error in the Spearman formula as given, but the correct formula had been used in the calculations. (2) Mousseau cites the use of the Pearsonian standard error of the coefficient of r for the Spearman coefficient by M. G. Kendall, among others. G.R. Thornton has criticized Kendall for this, but Lacoste & Gousse had no r whose standard error did not meet Thornton's specifications. (3) Lacoste & Gousse define their universe as the 11 parishes, so that their sample was not small. (See SA 1535-A9121). M. Giguere.
