About Doctors, Biologists and Sociolgoists

In this article, which serves as introduction to the journal, the author reflects about the role played nowadays by biology & its biomedical & biotechnological applications, & about what might be the relationship between biology & sociology. With respect to the first topic the author criticizes genetic reductionism & determinism (everything is genetic) that pretends to explain all that happens in this world, accordingly with an over dimensioned vision of whatever are biological capacities. Dealing with the relationship between biological & sociological knowledge the author advances some elements that may allow to proceed in the way of their integration, trying to surpass the separations between nature & culture (in the general ambit) or between body & mind (in the individual terrain). 20 References.
