Zusammenfassung:Outlines some of the duties of the Naval Hydrographic Service, such as military support and aid to fishing and research fleets. This entices conducting surveys involving relief and geological structures of the ocean floor, collection and organization of navigational information such as maritime hazards and the maintaining of Russian Federation influences. Furthermore, the work is only increasing as the arctic melts and opens up vast new possibilities for Russia and other nations. New IHO standards have begun shaping the way Russia charts her collection of nautical charts and survey data in general. Discusses the ways that hydrographic hardware is changing, such as upgrades of present instruments and creation of new marine cartography devices allowing for the digitizing of chart making, among others. With such changes, benefits will be brought to both Russia, and to maritime players in general. Adapted from the source document.
