Zusammenfassung: | The capital that emigrants bring back to their regions of origin stands out as one of the most relevant economic consequences of the contemporary migration process. Thus, this work centers its attention on the investments made by the "Indianos" returning to the Canaries, with the objective of gauging their involvement & influence in the modernization of the production apparatus, starting with the franchise system established in 1852. Extension of the analysis to the Civil War is explainable because that moment represents a turning point, not only politically speaking, but also in the economic framework & migration patterns of the islands. 6 Graphs, 35 References.
