Emotional Profile of Hypersensitive Personality: Some Implications for Quality of Life Research

In an attempt to dismantle the emotional structure of the "hypersensitive" paranoid personality, recourse is made to the correlation of the paranoid personality (as characterized by aggravated problems with emotions, behavior, & social contacts) & a negative indicator of quality of life (QOL), based on a study of 30 male psychiatric patients with paranoid-depressive syndrome, all assessed with premorbid hypersensitive personalities, per self-reported MMPI scores. As expected, negative QOL scores imply that the hypersensitive paranoid personality is ill-suited for social contact & interpersonal behavior, which leads to alienation & ineffectual challenge with the rest of the world. 1 Table, 13 References.
