Zusammenfassung: | Even though immigration to Spain has become more & more balanced by gender, according to government records, the invisibility of women immigrants in policy continues. Immigration policy on family reunification & children born of foreigners in Spain in the new Regulations of the Organic Law 7/85 of 1996 is reviewed; conflicts exist between different pieces of legislation on these matters within the European Union. Policy objectives to reduce new immigration flows & seal borders discriminate against women because family solidarity & integration are not privileged. Foreign women as well as native-born Spaniards suffer from a stereotype that devalues women, & they face greater barriers to immigration than men. 15 References. Adapted from the source document. |
