Zusammenfassung: | This article shows the possibility of differentiating between several modes of leaving the street. First of all this diversity can be accounted for by the dynamics of identity characterizing children who express the intention of leaving the street. The article proposes a typology of exits, demonstrating that leaving the street is not a linear & progressive process, but involves a break in the child's biographical line, or an exhaustion of those resources that allowed him or her to remain on the street. An exit from the street is considered a step in the career of the child. Case examples are presented from Mexico, Costa Rica, & Honduras. 3 Figures, 28 References. Adapted from the source document. |
