Zusammenfassung:Women artists have been undoing the autonomy and the universality of the aesthetic image by developing their art, not only for the production of effects in signification or communication, but as a form of agency. Positing the body, not as an outside to representation but as a site for rendering visible normative statements founded on the refusal of alternative possibilities, provides new perspectives on old questions about images.
