Zusammenfassung:Based on a study of leadership by C. C. Miller & J. Dirksen (identification of visible, concealed & symbolic leaders), the author reanalyzes reputational leadership data from 1 Ur & 2 Ru communities. These data indicate that the `concealed' leader exists only in the Ur community. It is suggested that this discussion of leader types could be made more useful if the res'ers in the future would specify the type of leader functions associated with these leadership roles. That is, it would appear that the concealed leader probably plays a more or less instrumental role, while the symbolic leader may play an expressive role in the community. This might mean that the visible leader is ascribed both expressive & instrumental functions. AA.
