Zusammenfassung: | Male & female perceptions of job dimensions, general job satisfaction, & internal work motivation were studied with 123 workers (89 male, 34 female) in a western United States industry. Hypotheses were: (1) men & women perceive their job dimensions similarly; (2) there is a positive relationship between affective work outcomes & job dimensions in both sexes; & (3) for both men & women, job dimensions predict affective work outcomes. The Job Diagnostic Survey was used. All three hypotheses were supported. Except for the task significance variable, there were no differences in job dimension perceptions between men & women. For women, affective job outcomes were related to all job dimensions, except feedback from others. Gender differences did not influence the predictive relationship between job dimensions & affective work outcomes. 3 Tables. P. Montgomery. |
