Zusammenfassung:Refutation of an earlier argument ("Illegal Abortions and the Abortion Act 1967," British Journal of Criminology, 1976, 16, 1, 63-67) stating that there had been no fall in illegal abortions in Britain since the 1967 Act. Major indicators--eg, maternal deaths, hospital admissions due to illegal abortions, & crimes known to the police--have all shown a distinct reduction. There are still some illegal abortions occurring, but not at any number great enough to strengthen a case for restriction in the legal abortion laws. 3 Tables. Modified HA.
