Zusammenfassung: | An investigation of whether females (Fs) are more disclosing in their same-sex friendships than males (Ms), questionnaire data obtained from 3 samples: adolescents & young adults (N = 202) in Chicago, Ill; college students (N = 140) in Budapest, Hungary, & Chicago, Ill; & single & married adults (N = 200) in Chicago. No support was found for the suggestion that Ms feel as close to their same-sex friends as do Fs, but support was found for a developmental contention that, during adolescence, both sexes expect to become more disclosing in their other-sex friendships in adulthood, & that spousal relationship should be the most intimate. Further, both sexes, believe Fs are more disclosing of their feelings & problems than Ms. 2 Tables, 39 References. Adapted from the source document. |
