Zusammenfassung:Morozov argues that he productive development of international studies in Russia ever since the fall of the Soviet system has been hampered by a nearly universal obsession with identity. He demonstrates that the failure to recognize the fundamentally political nature of key questions facing the Russian social sciences leads to a situation where a scholarly discussion on those issues becomes impossible, and what is left is an extremely politicized controversy between incompatible ideologically defined worldviews.
