Zusammenfassung:The victory of the new US President Barack Obama signified a transcendental phenomenon in US politics. Since the beginning of his regime, domestic issues have been the major object of his attention. However, the international dimension of his challenge is equally notable. The domestic & the foreign are intimately interlaced, & the future of his foreign policy is not divorced from the management of the national reality. Two questions will be at the center of his mandate: how to face the split of the hegemony of the US, & how to reach a new balance between diplomacy & force in the design & execution of Washington strategy. This will influence, directly or indirectly, relations between the US & Latin America. Adapted from the source document.
