Eikenberry told a House committee that the al Qaeda and Taliban leadership presence inside Pakistan remains a very significant problem for American and nato forces, and also warned of a growing threat of Talibanization inside Pakistan.3 Thus, rather than demonstrating Pakistan's commitment to the war on terrorism, the arrest in Quetta merely reinforced the American belief that Pakistan could move much more vigorously against al Qaeda and the Taliban leadership based in Pakistan, if it chose to do so. |
